Making
the Invisible Visible

Presented by GUILD HONG KONG

Event Summary

Making the Invisible Visible is a powerful and immersive invitation to shine light and care on what otherwise can remain invisible. On a warm evening at JC Cube at Tai Kwun, Guild Hong Kong staged a joyful call to action—a journey for everyone to explore new attention toward our shared futures.

A full house of hearts came together across generations. Featured Hong Kong artists Master Cheung Kam Ping, Ms. Phoebe Lee, Dr. Kuffy Ko, and Mr. Francis Mok, together with young choir members, Sophie Lee, Hugo Chan, and Alison Cheung, set the stage. New ideas took root alongside longtime Guild partnerships.

Focusing on three acts of love, in particular, to explore, “Making the Invisible Visible” can change how we see and care, up close and life-long. Thank you to all for your inspirations!

Event Details

A Shift of Vision: What If?

What if we could make the invisible visible on a new entrance of light, guided by our own vision? What if we discover how to shine a light on heritage and love, at an edge of invisibility? This original film by Cayambe Films, produced by Guild Hong Kong, asks to look again to explore how we see. What more can we bring into life and close detail? Take a look!

Renew: Life-Long Attention to Intergenerational Knowledge and Culture

Master Cheung Kam Ping, Master of Canton porcelain crafts, invited us in conversation and example to focus on heritage and generational gifts. Through the guiding detail, we explored how our close attention can honor traditions, stories, and crafts to last over time.

Recognize: Seeing All We Love With Care in Unfamiliar Ways

Ms Phoebe Lee, Theatre Artist, Director, and Teacher guided us on recognizing those closest to us when parts of them become temporarily invisible in cherished familiarity. Exploring those we love anew, through slow motion detail, we looked to bring to light parts of ourselves and others, otherwise unseen.

Reconnect: Building Living Memory and Collective Life Stories

What if someone you treasure is no longer by your side? Dr Kuffy Ko, Writer, Teacher and Memoir Artist, invited us to discover our own angle of light that casts new visibility and articulation with those we love, and to continue to build those living memories together.
